How to launch on Product Hunt in 2026

Upcoming page, 12:01am Pacific, mid-week, 18 hours of comments. An honest prep list for a high-variance day.

What the day can and cannot do

Product Hunt can concentrate discovery traffic, hand you a lasting page and badge, and put you in front of press scouts. It cannot invent demand, fix a weak one-liner, or compensate for a landing page that does not convert. Rank tracks popularity. Revenue tracks fit.

The week before

Maker account already warm. Upcoming page with a real list. Gallery, first comment, and maker comment written. Friends briefed to come as users, not as a vote ring. Email drafted. X and LinkedIn drafted but not scheduled on top of each other. A Uneed, Fazier, or IndieHunt launch already done so you know which screenshot people understand.

The day

Go live at 12:01am PT. Post the maker comment immediately. Email your list in the morning with one link. Stay in comments. Never post “please upvote.” If something is broken, say so and fix it in public. Most of the traffic that is coming will arrive in the first six to twenty-four hours.

The day after

Write the recap with numbers. Update directories. Ask for reviews from people who actually used the product. Then go back to the work. The long tail of a Product Hunt page is real but small compared with the spike.
