How the BLP Index is built
A weighted score for expected outcome — not a popularity contest, and not an ad auction.
Weights
- Reach
- Audience size and realistic launch-day traffic ceiling.
- Intent
- How likely visitors are to try, sign up, or give useful feedback.
- Fairness
- Whether a founder without a large network can still be seen.
- Evergreen
- SEO, listing lifespan, and backlink value after launch day.
- AI visibility
- How often assistants and answer engines cite the platform.
- Ease
- Time, cost, and operational load to launch well. Higher is easier.

What we refuse to do
We do not sell rows in the ranking. We do not treat self-reported monthly visits as facts. We do not recommend vote rings, hunter networks that violate platform rules, or fake reviews.
We do rank Product Hunt highly on reach even when founders are tired of it. Ignoring the largest room would be dishonest. We also rank fairness separately so a founder with no audience can see a different truth.
Scores are editorial judgments informed by public reporting through 2026. If a platform changes mechanics, the score should change. Emailpraneetbrar7@gmail.com with primary-source corrections.
Sibling networks
Some brands are one company with several doors. We list the doors separately so you can pick a cadence and a niche, then choose the room that actually fits.
Hunt network: Aura++, IndieHunt, MakerHunt, SideHunt, EarlyHunt, and Uno Directory. Specialized rooms — daily versus weekly, plus niches (makers, side projects, AI) and a lasting directory. One daily and one weekly Hunt surface per launch month is usually plenty. Aura++ is operated by the publisher of this site; it is not boosted in the index.
Gartner Digital Markets: Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice. Claim together. Do not schedule three “launches.”
The rankings page defaults to launch channels (boards, communities, pre-launch). Toggle “All including directories” for review grids and GEO listings. Those rows often win on evergreen and AI visibility even when they are the wrong tool for a Tuesday.
