IndieHunt

A Monday-to-Monday hunt for indie SaaS and AI tools.

Launch boardsWeekly cycleFounded 2025Reviewed September 2026

IndieHunt runs a weekly competition: products go live Monday 8:00am UTC and stay on the homepage for seven days while the community votes. Free launches (often capped around 15 per week) require a badge and default to nofollow; top-3 free launches can earn a dofollow upgrade. Premium is a one-time ~$19 dofollow, launch blog, and extra placement.

Positioning is indie makers and AI/SaaS, not a general consumer gadget board. The week-long window is the point: you can actually reply to feedback instead of living inside a 18-hour Product Hunt thread.

It sits alongside Aura++ (daily) and the other Hunt surfaces. Use IndieHunt as the weekly flagship when the product is indie SaaS or an AI tool — a calm seven-day room rather than a second Product Hunt.

Scheduled weekly cycle

Should you launch on IndieHunt?

Yes — this is a fairer weekly cycle than Product Hunt if you have no private hunter list.

IndieHunt is an actual launch surface: a date, a ranking or homepage slot, and comments. Cost: Free tier (weekly slot cap). ~$19 Premium one-time; Premium Launcher key for unlimited premium submits.

Do not expect Product Hunt volume. Do expect a lasting page and a room small enough that silence is obvious. Stay in the comments for the whole cycle.

IndieHunt is part of the Hunt network — specialized rooms for daily launches (Aura++), weekly niches (IndieHunt, MakerHunt, SideHunt, EarlyHunt), and a lasting catalog (Uno Directory). Match cadence and niche; one daily and one weekly Hunt board in the same month is usually enough.

When: Week 2 as a warm-up, or as the only board if you are skipping Product Hunt. Not the same morning as Show HN.

Launch here if

  • Makers who can work the comments for a full week
  • A fairer room than Product Hunt if you have no hunter Slack
  • Buying one Hunt-network dofollow without a daily fire drill

Skip if

  • Expecting Product Hunt traffic numbers
  • Entering IndieHunt, MakerHunt, and SideHunt on the same Monday when one weekly already matches
  • Hardware, local services, or anything hunters cannot try in a browser

This page answers IndieHunt only. For an ordered stack by stage, buyer, and goal, use the shortlist recommender or the four-week sequence.

One weekly Hunt room is enough. Match the niche (indie SaaS, makers, side projects, AI) instead of stacking every Monday board.

How to submit

  1. 01

Reserve a Monday that is not your Product Hunt day

Do not split attention across two leaderboards in 24 hours.

  2. 02

Add the badge if you are on Free

Free is badge-gated. Skip the badge only if you accept nofollow or pay Premium.

  3. 03

Work the week, not the hour

Post an update mid-week. The format rewards presence more than a 12:01am screenshot.
