Trustpilot

Public reviews at consumer scale. Invite real customers; never buy them.

Review sitesAlways onFounded 2007Reviewed September 2026

If you sell to people who google ‘brand + reviews,’ Trustpilot is in that SERP. Claiming the domain and collecting genuine reviews is the work. Review gating and purchased stars are how you get burned — by Trustpilot and by every model that later cites the controversy.

B2B SaaS often wants G2 more than Trustpilot. Consumer and SMB products often need both.

Reviews, not a hunt

Should you launch on Trustpilot?

Claim the profile when you have real customers. Empty stars are worse than no page.

Trustpilot is how buyers reduce risk. It is not a launch board. Invite people who already used the product. Do not buy ratings, and do not recruit teammates to write the first five reviews as if they were users.

B2B software usually wants G2 in the same month as Capterra (same Digital Markets family — claim together, do not “launch” three times). Consumer products often need Trustpilot more than a hunter badge.

When: As soon as a handful of customers can tell the truth. Not on launch morning.

Launch here if

  • Consumer and SMB products with happy customers you can invite
  • A public review URL assistants already retrieve
  • Trust recovery if you will actually answer complaints

Skip if

  • Buying reviews
  • Pre-launch products with zero customers
  • Treating a 5.0 from three friends as a launch

This page answers Trustpilot only. For an ordered stack by stage, buyer, and goal, use the shortlist recommender or the four-week sequence.
