Uneed

The fairest daily launch board for indie products.

Launch boardsDaily boardFounded 2023Reviewed September 2026

Uneed has become the default Product Hunt alternative for indie products by fixing the thing founders resent: a 24-hour window that discards you if you miss the homepage. You still get a launch day, but the listing stays, and weekly and monthly rankings keep sending residual visits.

The audience is smaller — on the order of tens of thousands of makers rather than Product Hunt’s mass consumer curiosity — which is the point. Fewer concurrent launches means a competent product can actually finish the day visible. Uneed also runs a launch newsletter, so a good day has a second distribution hit.

The trade-off is the queue. Free slots can book out weeks ahead. Skipping the line is a paid option (around $30). If you need a date certain, budget for that or submit early.

Scheduled daily board

Should you launch on Uneed?

Yes — this is a fairer daily board than Product Hunt if you have no private hunter list.

Uneed is an actual launch surface: a date, a ranking or homepage slot, and comments. Cost: Free queue. Skip-the-line around $29.99; other boosts may apply.

Do not expect Product Hunt volume. Do expect a lasting page and a room small enough that silence is obvious. Stay in the comments for the whole cycle.

When: Week 2 as a warm-up, or as the only board if you are skipping Product Hunt. Not the same morning as Show HN.

Launch here if

  • Indie and small-team products that want a real launch day
  • Founders who also want a lasting listing and newsletter exposure
  • Warm-up launches before Product Hunt

Skip if

  • Teams that need Product Hunt’s press-scout density
  • Launches that cannot wait in a free queue
  • Products with no indie or maker buyer

This page answers Uneed only. For an ordered stack by stage, buyer, and goal, use the shortlist recommender or the four-week sequence.

Fairer than Product Hunt if you have no hunter list. Still a comment day. Do not stack with Product Hunt the same morning.

How to submit

  1. 01

    Create the listing early

Get in the free queue as soon as the landing page exists. Do not treat Uneed as a same-week tactic.

  2. 02

    Write for makers

The audience builds software. Lead with the job to be done, the stack if relevant, and what is actually free to try.

  3. 03

Use launch day like a small Product Hunt

Be present in comments, share with your list, and treat questions as copy bugs.

  4. 04

    Leave the listing live

The persistent page and rankings are half the value. Keep screenshots and the URL current.
